Cixi Vocational High School was set up in 1986.It is a national-sized key school that associates vocational school, secondary school and institute together.
The school is situated in the south bank of Hangzhou Bay. It is broad in scope. With the convenient transportation, beautiful environment, updated facilities, scientific and management, unique education characteristics, the school has made great achievements.
The school has 65000 square meters of construction area and covers an area of 271Mu (667 square meters each Mu). It consists of two campuses － major campus and Jinlun campus. It has 90 classes, more than 4000 students and 370 staff of high qualification, reasonable composition and potential ability at present.
The school has advanced educational facilities, such as over 800 sets of computers, about 60 multimedia-equipped classrooms, 5 large-sized public multimedia classrooms, CNC analogue labs, computer network and more than 50 other experimental lads to meet all the demands for different majors. The school consists of six departments, such as Engineering & Electric Department, International Business Department, IT Department, Financial Management Department, Art Department and Medical and Chemical Department.
The school adheres to the principles that moral education, teaching and skill training are equally important. It is highly praised by the whole society for its outstanding teaching quality. The school together with other 16 enterprises established the Educational Group of Cixi Vocational High School on Dec.2004.
Scientific research on teaching is regarded as the guide of the school. The school has gained great achievements through depending on the higher Research Institutes, connecting with other schools and also getting a great success by improving school facilities and teaching abilities of the teachers. At present the school is the Experiment Base of Shanghai Vocational Education Research Institute, the Experiment school of Vocational Education Institute of Zhejiang Teachers University, Zhejiang Experiment School of Modern Educational Technology, the Research School of Key Scientific Research Task named “Wide Base, Living Pattern” of the United Nations Organization.
