      Guangya School Background

Guangya School is a well-known school founded in 1992, the same year the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs authorized Guangya School as a qualified school to employ foreign experts. In 1994, IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) authorized Guangya School as a candidate school in its programme. Guangya School employs about ten foreign teachers each year. Since its founding, Guangya School has also had about 100 students from different countries. During the past 12 years, our students have made high academic achievements and have been received at universities in Canada, Britain, France, New Zealand and Sweden.

We will begin offering the two-year IB Diploma Program in September, 2005. The International Baccalaureate Organization, founded in 1968, aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who desire to help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IBO's Diploma Programme (DP) is a comprehensive two-year international curriculum that is designed for highly motivated secondary school students. Job Description

We hire experienced teachers who are native English speakers with a teacher's qualification certificate. We are currently looking to fill teaching positions for English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Business & Management, Geography and Visual Arts classes of the IB Diploma Programme.

Accommodation

Guangya School offers furnished living quarters that include an air conditioner, TV, DVD player, microwave oven, refrigerator, and washing machine.   The school also provides all meals on campus.

Duration of Contract

At least two years.

Salary

Experienced teachers: 6000--9000RMB per month

IB experienced teachers: 12,000-15,000RMB per month

Each teacher will be paid for ten months of teaching.   No salary will be given for the month of July and August since no classes are offered during that time.  

Holidays

Spring Festival:     One month

Summer Vacation: Two months

May holiday:      Seven days

National holiday:    Seven days

In addition, Guangya School gives $1200 (U.S.) for each teacher's travel allowance per year.

Qualifications

Degree:    Minimum of a bachelor's degree

Majors:    English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Business & Management, Geography and Visual Arts.
